Souvenaid® is powered by Fortasyn® Connect, a unique combination of nutrients formulated to nutritionally support the growth of brain connections. Fortasyn® Connect key ingredients:

  • Omega-3 fatty acids
  • Uridine monophosphate
  • Choline
  • Phospholipids
  • B vitamins
  • Antioxidants

Souvenaid® is formulated based on robust brain and nutritional science, originally developed to nutritionally support the growth of brain connections. It is clinically indicated for early Alzheimer’s disease, with studies demonstrating safety, tolerance and benefits on memory function in this population. Souvenaid® is backed by 20 years of evidence-based research1-4 and is supported by an ongoing research program.

The longest trial completed using Souvenaid® so far was the LipiDiDiet Clinical trial, which was an independent study funded by the European Commission. This research study investigated the long-term use and impact of Souvenaid® on memory and cognitive function. In this study, Souvenaid® was shown to nutritionally support memory and cognitive function.

Throughout our lives we continually lose and replace important brain connections known as synapses without noticing. What we consume in our daily diet plays an important part in the process because the brain needs key nutrients – omega-3 fatty acids, phospholipids, choline, uridine monophosphate and B vitamins – in the right combination and at the right level to replace the synapses.

Research has shown that people with early Alzheimer’s disease including MCI often have low levels of some key nutrients. Souvenaid® has been specially formulated to provide the essential nutrients for synapse formation at levels otherwise difficult to achieve through diet alone. Souvenaid® has been found to increase some blood nutrient levels in those with Alzheimer’s disease when taken daily for 24 weeks²⁴.

Backed by 20 years of evidence based research¹⁴ and supported by an ongoing research programme, Souvenaid® nutritionally supports memory function in early Alzheimer’s disease when taken daily for at least 6 months¹–³.

Souvenaid® has been developed to be taken daily. When you take Souvenaid® in the day is up to you, depending on when you find it easiest to take. It might be useful to take Souvenaid® at the same time each day, for example at breakfast time, to help you remember to take it.

Within your core budget, money may be allocated against daily activities, community participation, transport, etc. However – you can use the money across the core support category as you see fit.

It is important to remember that all funds in your core support budget are fully flexible. You can choose how best to spend your core support funding so that you can get the services you need when you need them to achieve your goals.

Early Alzheimer’s disease is characterised by a loss of brain connections (synapses) and cells (neurons). In a healthy brain these connections are critical for the formation of memory, learning and personality. In Alzheimer’s disease, neurons become damaged and their ability to send messages via these connections becomes impaired.

In a healthy brain, formation of neurons and synapses is supported with a healthy varied diet. However, there is evidence that people with early Alzheimer’s disease including MCI often have low levels of some key nutrients.6

Alzheimer’s disease damages the brain by affecting neurons (nerve cells) and the synapses, which are the connections between them. This disruption interferes with how brain cells function and communicate.

Early symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease include changes in a person’s memory, thinking and ability to interact socially. There is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s disease.1

What we consume in our daily diet plays an important part in this process because the brain needs key nutrients – omega-3 fatty acids, phospholipids, choline, uridine monophosphate and B vitamins – in the right combination and at the right level to replace these synapses. 2-3

Research has shown that people with Alzheimer’s disease including mild cognitive impairment (MCI) often have low levels of some of these key nutrients including vitamins A, C, E, folate, and vitamin B12, Omega-3. 2-3

Souvenaid® Liquid has been shown to be safe and well tolerated when used alone or alongside common Alzheimer's disease medication1-6 in various studies and is not expected to cause unwanted symptoms.
