Product Description:
Mepilex Transfer Ag consists of a Safetac wound contact layer, and a compressed polyurethane foam containing silver sulphate and coloured by activated carbon. Safetac is a proprietary adhesive technology developed by Mölnlycke that minimizes pain to patients and trauma to intact skin or wounds. Mepilex Transfer Ag is a soft silicone wound contact layer that absorbs and transfers exudate, maintains a moist wound healing environment and has antimicrobial properties. Mepilex Transfer Ag is soft and conformable making it easy to keep the dressing in contact with the wound surface and the surrounding skin, even in awkward or uneven areas. Mepilex Transfer Ag maintains a moist wound environment in combination with an appropriate secondary dressing. Mepilex Transfer Ag contains silver sulphate to create an effective bacterial barrier and inactivate a wide range of wound related pathogens (bacteria and fungi), as shown in vitro. By reducing the number of micro-organisms, Mepilex Transfer Ag may also reduce odour.
Areas of Use:
Mepilex Transfer Ag is designed for a wide range of low to high exuding leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, malignant wounds, partial thickness burns and donor sites, where there is a risk of infection.
Mepilex Transfer Ag may be used on infected wounds as part of a treatment regimen under supervision of a qualified health care professional.
Mepilex Transfer Ag can be used under compression bandaging.
